#NewYearNewMe

#NewYearNewMe

Sound familiar? Or is there another particular motto that resonates with you at the start of the New Year?

Moving forward into the new year, what changes are you looking to make and how are you going to achieve this?

Having hopefully enjoyed some relaxation time over the holidays, motivation is a key factor when getting back in to the swing of things. It is vital to kick-start your year in an encouraging and positive way to ensure that you are ready to achieve your goals. We have been discussing this at KSA…here are some starting points that we came up with to help get you on the right track:

> Try not to focus on the negatives; you can’t change the past. Take the positives and successes forward and concentrate on these – the rest will follow.

> Positive Affirmation – we spoke to some Olympic Gold Medallist rowers and their coach recently about the different mind-sets when looking to make changes. For them, this might be to their technique in the boat but the thinking remains the same and could well be applied to any issue. The exemplar train of thought that they try to adopt is:

“Well, I could make the change gradually over 6 months, or I could make the change right now.”

> Remember: “Some people want it to happen. Some wish it would happen. Others make it happen.” – Michael Jordan

Whilst we realise the #NewYearNewMe hashtag is only a bit of inspirational social media – and the intention behind it is great – we’re keen to point out that the idea of re-inventing ourselves is actually quite a big task and is slightly derogatory to our ‘former’ self. in reality, it is more about re-evaluating oneself.
