Business as Usual!

For many salespeople, this could be the longest time away from the office or customer meetings – so how can we ensure this doesn’t affect mindset & resilience and our bottom line?

Here’s a few tips you might want to consider.

  1. Structure your day

Set yourself objectives for the morning / day / week to maintain momentum and focus.

Plan the amount of time you will allocate to each task. It may be that you can’t complete the task in one day, so set yourself a finish point before you move onto something else or give yourself a break.

  1. Doing the right things

Focus on doing the right things, not simply on doing things right.

Decide which tasks will best achieve the desired result for the day.

  1. Create your work zone

This is not always simple to achieve but will mean you can have a virtual wall between your work and personal space.

It could simply be a chair, a table – somewhere psychologically you know is your work zone.

  1. Congratulate your achievements

To maintain motivation and drive, recognise what you have achieved and congratulate yourself at the end of each day. If you didn’t achieve everything you wanted to, start again by planning your next day.

  1. Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today

Have you got any tasks you have been putting off such as updating CRM systems, finishing that monthly report, reviewing your sales figures etc. why not plan it into your day? It can take the place of driving time and means when you’re back out there all your tasks will be up to date.

  1. Stay connected

We may not be able to meet up with our customers and colleagues but we can still stay connected. Increase time focusing on meaningful conversations with your customers. Why not book time via zoom, skype etc?

  1. Avoid social media

In the current situation, it can be tempting to monitor the news and social media for updates – this can be distracting and make you concerned.

  1. Stay away from the biscuit barrel

No more needs to be said!
